OVERVIEW

Club Marena really is the perfect place to stay when visiting Baja, and this is the best unit within Marena! Just ten minutes south of the Rosarito Beach Hotel, this two-story villa is located in the complex in Rosarito because of 1) it's protected location--no northern wind and south facing, so you get tons of warm sunshine and the marine layer of fog stays away, 2) of course its exclusive access to the best surf break in Baja, K-38, 3) it's very own private sandy beach, 4) luxurious and perfectly manicured grounds, 5) heated swimming pool, heated children's pool, and jacuzzi are all heated 24/7 (other condo regimes in the area do not heat their pools and the jacuzzis are only heated upon request).

  • ACTIVITIES

    Surfing and paddleboarding are some of the most popular activities at Club Marena, but just lounging on the patio in a chaise lounge overlooking the ocean, palm trees, pools and lush gardens is quite entertaining, too! There are also tennis courts, a heated oceanfront pool, a jacuzzi that's always hot, lovely oceanfront paths, a private beach, a clubhouse with ping pong, darts, and pool tables, and plenty of exploring around the tide pools out front.


    IDEAL MICRO-CLIMATE

    Those that live in Southern California will know that a thick marine layer of fog can be present in the mornings of some months and can oftentimes last through the entire day. While this phenomenon is present throughout most of the west coast, Club Marena is unique in that it sits in a micro-climate. The marine layer makes a straight line across the bay from Calafia Point down to Primo Tapia. Club Marena is tucked inside this greater bay. The villas are also protected from the northerly winds by the Calafia point. What wind remains is further diffused by the towers so that our villa and grounds are left with a calm breeze, which is unique to coastal properties. The owners have lived and rented in all major complexes in the greater Rosarito area and have settled on this particular villa for its perfect weather.


    SURFER'S DREAM

    The famous K-38 surf break is a 150-300m right point break into a protected bay (there is also a shorter 50-100m punchier left into the same bay). While more southerly facing, the location picks up all swell directions, including Southern swells from Antarctica/New Zealand in our summer and NW swells in our winter. The line-up is always minimal since the only feasible access point is only for those staying at Club Marena. The wind and marine layer (when present) always stay a half mile outside the line-up due to the protected nature of the greater bay that we are in. Conditions are usually glassy as there is also a kelp forest protecting the bay. The inside section is also great for younger groms to learn.


    LOCATION

    Situated on the small cove at Kilometer 38.5, the villas in Club Marena have long been one of the most sought after residences on the coveted coast of Descanso Bay just south of Rosarito.


    THE SPACE

    2 bedrooms (California King in Master and queen in guest BR), 2.5 bathrooms, spacious oceanfront patio area, upstairs oceanfront terrace off the master bedroom, 3rd oceanfront deck with chaise lounges, and additional interior private garden patio.

  • An assortment of surfboards, boogie boards, wetsuits, tennis rackets, golf clubs and beach chairs/toys available in the garage for your personal use - free!
  • The beach is just a few steps off your patio. No elevators to worry about.
  • There is a private garage connected to the villa with space for one car. Parking in the attached garage allows you easy access to bring in all your luggage, toys, and groceries, instead of lugging them through underground parking garages, stairs, and elevators as in the condos. Additional gated parking is available directly outside the villa's front door.
  • High-Speed Internet is on and ready for use and is not shared with any other units to ensure you full streaming capability.
  • All household amenities are available including a full kitchen ready for use (dishwasher, cookware, table settings, coffee maker, blender, microwave), washer/dryer, two flatscreen TVs (smart TV, Netflix, Direct TV with US channels) in living room and master bedroom, plenty of fresh linens and towels, etc.
  • In the area there are plenty of restaurants including some of the best just down the street and walking distance, like the K38 Taco Shop, Calypso, and Ollie's.
  • The safe, gated community includes 24 hour security guards.
  • Check In and Check Out is easy via a digital key code and your manager is available via phone and email 24 hours a day.

    STAY EXTRA DAYS TO VISIT:

  • Guadalupe Valley, the wine region (ask about our recommended van/driver so you don't have to drive).
  • Ensenada, the port town with plenty of street side activities such as people watching, shopping, the famous Hussong's Cantina, and a harbour boat tour.
  • Golfing, surfing, paddleboarding, hiking, horse back riding--these are just a few of the many activities.
  • Shopping the arts and home improvement crafts of Rosarito and La Barca.
  • Ride an ATV on the local sand dunes.
